NAS holds 4th Ambassadorial Lecture

The Academy’s 4^th Ambassador Lecture was hosted by the University of Maiduguri, Borno State on the 8th of November 2023. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Aliyu Shugaba, was delighted to host the speaker, Professor Oyewale Tomori FAS, a past President of the Academy, and some other Fellows of the Academy. Professor Tomori, who spoke on ‘Society Shaping Science (SSS) in Democracy’ at the University’s auditorium, talked about how science can be used to shape the society during democracy.

In attendance was the Vice President of NAS, Professor Abubakar Sambo FAS, Professor Kaoje Abubakar FAS (former Minister of Science &Technology), former Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor J.D Aminu, the Academy’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Oladoyin Odubanjo, some heads of Departments, deans, lecturers, and students of the university.
