NAS Elects President-elect and Vice-President

The Nigerian Academy of Science appointed Professor Abubakar Sani Sambo, FAS as the President-elect, and Professor Friday Okonofua, FAS as the Vice-President of the Academy. This took place at the Academy’s Annual General Meeting held in Lagos on Thursday, 25^th of January, 2024. Professor Sambo who is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering will take over as President of the Academy (from Professor Ekanem Braide) in January 2025. Professor Okonofua, who took over from Sambo as Vice-President, is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and he assumes the new office immediately.
