The Academy in collaboration with the Committee on Freedom and Responsibility in the Conduct of Science (CFRS), and the Regional Committee for Africa (RCA) of the International Council for Science (ICSU) is organizing a stakeholders’ workshop tagged shaping the future of researchers in developing countries: strategies for better enabling environment and enhancing the value of research. This workshop is slated to take place on the 7th and 8th of March 2018, in Abuja. The aim of this workshop is to bring together relevant experts to discuss the rights, freedom, needs, and responsibilities of African researchers; mitigating measures for brain drain/loss; as well as strategies to sustain the scientific careers of African scientists, particularly young and female scientists.
This workshop will be attended by members of the ICSU-CFRS, and RCA, as well as relevant stakeholders from across Africa. Attendance is strictly by invitation.
